Setting it up
- Install CleanCut on the iPhone or iPad you keep near the TV, on the same Wi-Fi as the Apple TV.
- Open it, pick your Apple TV, and type in the code that appears on the television. Once.
- Choose whether profanity is muted or skipped, and switch off any words you don’t mind hearing. Changes apply mid-episode.
- Press play in Tubi. Nothing to configure in Tubi. Pair CleanCut with the Apple TV once and press play as usual.

Questions about Tubi
Tubi is free. Is filtering Tubi free in CleanCut?
No. Tubi is filtered through the same subtitle lookup as the subscription apps, which is metered, so it needs CleanCut Plus or Pro. YouTube and Plex are the two apps filtered free.
What happens during Tubi's ad breaks?
The filter follows the TV's own playback position, not a stopwatch, so it resumes with the film. If the timing lands a little early or late after a break, Mic Sync on Pro corrects it by listening for a few seconds, or you can nudge it by hand on any plan.
Does it filter Tubi's live TV channels?
No. Live channels have no script and no subtitle file. Tubi's on-demand library is what's covered.
